Today at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Sony unveiled the Xperia Z2 premium flagship smartphone, which is the direct successor to the "best of Sony" Xperia Z1 that released in last year's September.
The exterior of the Xperia Z2 looks alike its predecessor, the familiar OmniBalance design, which having front and back glass panels encased with aluminum frame body. Yet,the Z2 is more slimmer and lighter with a smoother edges.
So what's new, let's jump straight to the main point. The Xperia Z2 features a 5.2 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) Triluminos display for mobile with Live Color LED. This time, Sony opts for an IPS screen with Bravia tech, which improved the viewing angles and Live Color LED produces more accurate and brighter colors with red and green phosphor and also blue LEDs.
The camera wise, it sports the same 20.7 MP camera with 1/2.3 inch Exmor RS sensor, G Lens and BIONZ image processing engine. It can now capture 4K resolution videos and 120 fps slow motion videos at 720p. It is also comes with a slightly improved 2.2 MP front shooter.
The Xperia Z2 is powered by the latest Qualcomm's 2.3 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and paired with a healthy 3 GB of RAM. Other specs included 16 GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, IP55 & IP58 dust and water resistant, digital noise cancellation, S-Force front surround speakers and a 3,200 mAh battery. The Z2 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
The Xperia Z2 is scheduled to launch globally starting from March 2014, the price of the phone has yet to announce. Sony also announced the Xperia Z2 Tablet alongside the Z2.
