Nvidia announced the company's first consumer product, the Shield Portable gaming machine at CES 2013. After a year, Nvidia officially announced its second generation Shield device in the form of a tablet: the Shield Tablet.
The new Shield Tablet boosts a larger 8 inch Full HD display compared to original Shield's 5 inch HD screen and swaps out the original Tegra 4 in favor of the more powerful Tegra K1 chip.
Built with an 8 inch 1920 x 1200 IPS display, front facing stereo speakers and dual bass reflex port with build-in microphone provided users the best visual and incredible crisp and clear audio enjoyment.
It is also equipped with 2 GB of RAM alongside 16 or 32 GB of internal storage option. The 16 GB model comes with WiFi only and the 32 GB model offers 4G LTE connectivity. Both variants will support microSD card up to addition 128 GB.
Other features included 5 MP auto-focus HDR rear camera and 5 MP front-shooter, DirectStylus 2, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 19.75 Watt battery and runs on Android KitKat.
The Nvidia Shield Tablet carries a price tag of USD 299 (around RM960) for 16 GB variant while USD 399 (RM1,282) for 32 GB model and the optional gamepad will cost you another USD 60 (around RM192). It will be available in the end of this month for US and Canada, follow by Europe in mid-August and other regions at later this year.
