Xiaomi has finally launched the company's 2015 new flagship smartphone. The Mi Note is a high-end 5.7-inch phablet and it's Xiaomi first large-screen Android device which will be competed with its competitors - Apple iPhone 6 Plus to name a few.
Despite having a large 5.7 screen, the 6.95 mm thick and 161 g heavy phone is slightly slimmer and lighter than the iPhone 6 Plus. The metal frame body is sandwiched between Gorilla Glass 3 on the front (2.5D curved) and rear (3D curved).
The phablet comes in two options for its display resolution: The standard version sports a JDI / Sharp Full HD 1080p (386 ppi) LCD display. On the other hand, the "Pro" version features a sharper 2K Quad HD 2560 x 1440 (515 ppi) display.
There's a 13 MP f/2.0 Sony Exmor rear camera sensor equipped with Optimal Image Stabilization (OIS) and a dual-tone LED by Philips. On the front is a 4 MP selfie camera with large 2-micron pixels, similar to to HTC One UltraPixel camera.
The Mi Note is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.5 GHz Quad-core processor with Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage. There's also a large 3,000 mAh battery and it supports dual 4G SIM (micro / nana) cards. Other features included HiFi audio system with loseless audio playback support on APE, FLAC, DSD and WAV format. The device will runs on the new MIUI 6 software.
The Mi Note priced at CNY2,999 (around RM1,318) for 16 GB model and CNY2,799 (around RM1,605) for 64 GB model. It will be available later this month in China and come in Black and White.
The Mi Note Pro packs a more powerful hardware, beneath it is an Octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor combined four 2.0 GHz Cortex A57 cores and four 1.5 GHz Cortex A53 core. The chip is coupled with Adreno 430 GPU and a faster 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM.
The Note Pro has 64 GB of internal storage, LTE Cat 9 (450 Mbps) radio plus a slightly larger 3,090 mAh battery. It will carry a price tag of CNY3,299 (around RM1,891) and available in Gold colour. Unfortunately, the official availability has yet to announced.
