HTC Innovates Selfie to the Next Level with the Desire Eye's 13MP Front and Rear Camera


The Taiwan based HTC, introduces the company's ultimate selfie smartphone, the HTC Desire Eye. The new phone sporting the highest megapixel count front shooter camera - 13 MP f/2.2 wide 20 mm lens and has a Dual-LED flash and microphone.

Looking at the specs above, the camera should resulting the best selfies experience, even in the low-light conditions, thanks to the front Dual-LED flash. The Desire Eye is simply the best selfie smartphone designed for those who enjoys capturing photos, videos as well as sefies.


Well, the main camera also getting the same 13 MP camera with a larger f/2.0 aperture and a 28 mm lens accompanied by a Dual-LED flash and a microphone too. There are total of three microphones where the last one located on the bottom of the device.

HTC also unveils the HTC Eye Experience that comes with unique features which will take full advantage for both camera. These new functions included the Split Capture, Crop-Me-In, Voice Selfie, Face Tracking and more. The HTC Eye Experience features will also roll out to selected models: HTC One (M7), HTC One (M8), HTC Butterfly 2 and so on.


Under the hood, it's powered by the 2.3 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset with 2 GB of RAM. It has 16 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card slot, NFC and a 2,400 mAh battery. The phone packing a 5.2 inch 1080p LCD display and a pair of front-facing BoomSound speakers that are hardly to spot yet hided just above and below the screen.

The HTC Desire Eye runs on Android 4.4 and it has an IPX7 rating of water-resistance, just like the Butterfly 2. The HTC selfie smartphone is expected to available later in October and pricing has yet to announced.

UPDATE: The HTC Desire Eye is now available in Malaysia for RM1,699.
