Apple Officially Unveils the Next Generation iPhone: the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus


This is it! The Eighth generation iPhone. Apple has just made an announcement of the new iPhone, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The former iPhone comes with a bigger screen at 4.7 inch and the latter sporting an even larger 5.5 inch display.

Now Apple showcased their new iPhone with two variants and packing with a larger screen compared to the previous iPhone. Let's find out more about the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on the article below.

iPhone 6



The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch Retina HD display with a resolution of 1334 x 750, give it a pixel density of 326 ppi. The new iPhone 6 feature a brand new curved design with a slimmer body measuring at 6.9 mm thick vs the iPhone 5s measured at 7.6 mm.

On the inside, as expected, it's powered by the latest 64-bit Apple A8 processor along with a new M8 motion  coprocessor. Apple claimed that the new A8 chip is 13% smaller and 25% faster than the A7. It is also 50% more power efficiency than previous generation chip.


Camera wise, it packs an 8 MP iSight rear camera with 1.5-micron pixels and f/2.2 aperture. The camera also capable to record a super slo-mo 240 fps video at 720p and time-lapse video. Moreover, there's a 1.2 MP f/2.2 front-facing camera which capture 81% more light and has improved face detection.

Apple also included NFC inside to allow users make mobile secure mobile payments using the Apple Pay. The new iPhone 6 runs on the latest iOS 8 operating system. It will be available in Silver, Gold and Space Gray. The 16 GB version will cost you a $199, and goes up to $299 and $399 respectively for the 32 GB and 128 GB variant.

iPhone 6 Plus



The new iPhone 6 Plus is an enlarge version of the 6, sporting a 5.5 inch  Full HD 1080p Retina HD display with a pixel density of 401 ppi. The display itself comes with full sRGB standard and Dual-domain pixels for better viewing angles.

Everything same for the inside, it is powered by the new 64-bit A8 processor with the M8 motion coprocessor. The Touch ID sensor on the Home button, runs on iOS 8, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC support and LTE connectivity.


The phablet-size iPhone comes with "Landscape Mode" and the new "Reachability" (support for both models) is a gesture by simply double-tap on the Home button to shrink down everything to the lower half of the display for easy access (one-handed mode).

Although it has the same 8 MP iSight camera, but the 6 Plus has an extra feature: there's a built-in optical image stabilization. It will also support the super slow-motion video at 240 fps mode. On the front, you'll get a 1.2 MP camera for selfie.


The iPhone 6 Plus priced at $299 for the 16 GB model with 2 years contract and offers the capacity all the way up to 128 GB. It comes in three colours: Silver, Gold and Space Gray. Apple has removed the 32 GB version entirely and replaced with the whopping 128 GB version.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be rolling out beginning on September 19 on several countries and pre-order start on September 12.
