The Japanese company has just announced the successor to the 6-months old Xperia Z2 at IFA 2014, with the new Xperia Z3 - the fourth generation Z series smartphone.
The new flagship is a evolution of its predecessors, from generation to generation. The waterproof Z series smartphone become even better and comes with the Japanese company's top notch technology and innovation.
The Xperia Z3 carry the remarkable omnibalance design with 7.3 mm slim rounded aluminium frame, durable tempered glass panels and the 20.7 MP G Lens camera. It has the same 5.2 inch 1080p display as the Z2, but the panel has improved with better sunlight readability. The screen will feature Sony's Trilunimos Display for mobile with Live Colour LED and X-Reality.
As for the internal, there's a slightly boosted 2.5 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU (vs 2.3 GHz on the Z2), a healthy 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of expandable storage via microSD card slot (up to 128 GB). Other features included a 3,100 mAh battery, NFC, 4G LTE and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
Although it comes with the same 20.7 MP sensor, however, Sony has made some tweaks on its camera too. It has a new 25 mm wide-angle G Lens and capable to scale the ISO setting to 12,800 which is first in a smartphone and improved in low-light photography. In addition, you'll get a 2.2 MP front shooter.
Sony enhanced the Xperia Z3 water-resistant ability, it is now rated with the highest waterproof rating of IP65/68. There's also a dual front-facing stereo speakers, Digital Noise Cancellation technology and DSEE HX technology for you to enjoy the incredible High-Resolution Audio.
The Xperia Z3 will be available in four colours: Black, White, Green and Copper. Sony will launch the Z3 sometime in this fall with release date and pricing are still remain to be an unknown.
UPDATE: The wait is over, today (26 September) Sony Mobile Malaysia launched the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact.
UPDATE: Sony Mobile announced the Xperia Z3 Purple edition and has a new RRP of RM2,199.
