LG took the wraps off the company's newest high-end smartphone by introducing a brand new V series handsets. The first device from the new series, the LG V10 including some unique features like second screen, two front cameras and manual video mode.
The LG V10's chassis is made of SAE grade 316L stainless steel, which is tough and durable. For the back cover and bottom of the display are protected by Dura Skin, a soft material yet highly resistant to nicks and scratches. Plus, the phone passed the drop test from MET laboratories and found it to be "MIL-STD-810G Transit Drop Compliant" for shock.
In other words, with all the protection mentioned above, the V10 is a stylish yet with maximum durability smartphone. What's more, the secondary screen is right above the main 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) IPS Quantum display, both screens work independently.
The second screen sports a 2.1-inch IPS Quantum display with 160 x 1040 resolution. It can be set to "always on" to show time, date, weather and battery status without impacting the battery life. With the main display on, the second display can be use to show up app shortcuts even you're in the midst of another apps.
Right now, here's where it gets more exciting! The LG V10 features two 5 MP front-facing cameras with two separate lenses to capture standard 80-degree selfies or a wide angle group selfies of 120-degree. The main camera is equipped with a 16 MP unit with large f/1.8 aperture and OIS, accompanied by the camera technology found on the G4 - a single LED, colour spectrum sensor and laser autofocus system.
In addition, LG also included a manual mode for video - a first for smartphone. The manual video recording mode allows you to adjust things like shutter speed, frame rate, ISO, white balance and focus while recording. The camera is capable to capture 4K video and can also be recorded in a cinematic 21:9 ratio.
The LG V10 runs on Android 5.1 .1 Lollipop out of the box and will be available in Space Black, Luxe White, Modern Beige, Ocean Blue and Opal Blue. It will launches this month in Korea and followed by key markets (US, Europe and Asia) later.
