HTC One M9 is Officially Announced
This is the new HTC One M9 - HTC unveiled it at Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. The new flagship smartphone looks a lot like it predecessor (One M8). It sports the same aluminium unibody design with HTC's trademark BoomSound speakers.
The HTC One M9 still packs a 5-inch 1080p Super LCD3 display - same as the One M8. The highlight of the front are the traditional dual front-facing speakers, it's now enhanced further by Dolby Audio - combined HTC BoomSound with build-in amp and 5.1 Dolby Surround sound.
Under the hood, the One M9 is powered by the greatest and newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset (64-bit Octa-core CPU with 4 x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A57 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53). The device comes with 32 GB of expandable storage via microSD card up to 128 GB and supported by 3 GB of RAM.
The biggest change in hardware is the new squared rear camera unit. The HTC's UltraPixel tech is gone this time and there's a higher megapixel count, 20 MP sensor camera unit at the rear of the phone. The new camera sensor comes with sapphire cover lens, f/2.2 aperture, 27.8 mm lens, dual LED flash and 4K video recording. The Ultrapixel tech is not totally abandoned, however it appeared in the front camera for incredibly detailed selfie, even under low-light conditions.
The rest of the specs included a 2,840 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, 4G LTE connectivity and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7. The HTC One M9 will be available in dual tone look: Gold on Gold, Gold on Silver and Gunmetal Grey. No word on the pricing yet, but the smartphone will be released globally starting from mid of March this year.
