Samsung Galaxy Alpha is the First Galaxy Smartphone with Metal Frame and Premium Feel and Look


Samsung finally debuted the long-rumored premium design Galaxy smartphone, dubbed the Galaxy Alpha. Previously, this handset was also being tipped as the Galaxy F and Galaxy S5 Prime.

The Galaxy Alpha sports a stunning new design language, built with metal frame, thin and light weight design which is slimmer and lighter than its flagship S5 sibling at just 6.7 mm thick and weighs 115 grams.


As for the internal, the premium device packs a 4.7 inch HD Super AMOLED (1280 x 720) display, powered by an Exynos Octa-core CPU  (Quad 1.8 GHz + Quad 1.3 GHz), 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage (no microSD card slot).

The Galaxy Alpha also features a 12 MP rear camera, 2.1 MP front-facing camera, 4K video recording, a fingerprint scanner, Ultra Power Saving Mode, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, LTE and a 1,860 mAh battery. It will also support connectivity with Samsung Gear wearable devices.

The device will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box and will be available in Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver and Scuba Blue. The Galaxy Alpha will be arrive starting from September, but Samsung has yet to announce the pricing.


UPDATE: Samsung releases the Galaxy Alpha in Malaysia for RM1,899.
