Ladies and gentlemen, we're excited to present you the star of the show at Mobile World Congress - the Galaxy S5. Samsung has come to the fifth generation to its Galaxy S Series and achieved 200 million Galaxy S devices sold around the world - what a great success!
The new Galaxy S5 will launches on April 11th in 150 countries, the pricing and availability are remains unknown. Design wise, it looks familiar to the previous generation. But of course, you'll definitely find major upgrade inside this new flagship Galaxy smartphone.
The Galaxy S5 comes with new useful hardware features, which are the heart rate monitor and fingerprint scanner. First, the Galaxy S5 sports the same 1080p Super AMOLED display as the Galaxy S4 with a slightly larger screen at 5.1 inch. It is powered by a 2.5 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU and 2 GB of RAM.
Ones of the new hardware feature is the heart rate sensor, which is build into the rear of the phone alongside the LED flash. The other upgrade is the S5 is now feature a built-in fingerprint scanner at the home button. You can now unlock the phone by swiping your finger down over the home button.
In addition, the new device is equipped with a 16 MP rear camera which featuring UHD video capturing, advanced High Dynamice Range (HDR), Selective Focus, and world's fastest autofocus speed up to 0.3 second. There's also a 2 MP front facing camera.
As rumor said, the Galaxy S5 indeed comes with dust and water resistant with IP67 rating. Thus, the micro-USB port at the bottom is covered by a tab. The S5 will have 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and a 2,800 mAh removable battery.
Last but not least, it will runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box. The Galaxy S5 will come in wide range of colors, including Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold.
UPDATE: The Samsung Galaxy S5 officially lands in Malaysia with a price tag of RM2,399. Alongside the S5, the Gear 2 also made available for RM899.
