Huawei Debuts Ascend Mate2 4G with Reverse Charge Technology


Huawei revealed the Ascend Mate2 4G, the successor to the 2013's 6.1 inch Ascend Mate phablet. The new Mate2 comes with 4G LTE Cat 4 connectivity, sporting a similar 6.1 inch 1280 x 720 IPS screen with Corning Gorilla Glass.

Beneath the large display, the device is powered by a Quad-core 1.6 GHz CPU - to be available in two variants: one is Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, while another is Huawei's own HiSilicon Cortex A9 chip.


The Ascend Mate2 also features 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage with microSD expansion up to 32 GB, 13 MP f/2.0 rear camera, 5 MP f/2.4 front facing camera and run Android 4.3 with Huawei's Emotion UI 2.0.

Did we mention the battery? Oh well, the Mate2 carry a huge battery on board, largest in the industry with battery capacity of 4,050 mAh. Huawei promises a 60 hours of normal use and 12 hours of web surfing. Hold on, more surprise after this. Packing such a massive battery allows the Mate2 to charge up other devices with its Reverse Charging function!

Huawei has yet to announce the pricing and availability of the Ascend Mate2 4G, but it will heading to US market starting from March.
