Asus Unveils ZenFone Series Smartphone with Multiple Sizes and Colorful Designs


Today, Asus introduced a brand new line of Android Smartphone at their company's press conference in CES 2014, dubbed the ZenFone. The company launching the ZenFone with a range of 4-, 5- and 6-inches, all powered by a Dual-core Intel Atom processor and run Asus customized Android 4.3, which called the Zen UI.

The ZenFone 6 is the largest and most powerful among the trio. As indicated from the device's name, it sports a 6 inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 resolution and supports stylus and glove input. Under the hood, there's a 2 GHz Intel Atom Z2580 processor and some models will have 2 GB of RAM (others 1 GB).

The device comes with 8 GB or 16 GB version with microSD card slot, 13 MP rear camera, 2 MP front facing camera and a 3,230 mAh battery. It supports dual-SIM, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and 3G connectivity. The ZenFone 6 will be available in black, white, gold and red.


The ZenFone 5 packs a smaller 5 inch 720p IPS display with pen and glove input support. It has the same 2 GHz Dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 CPU alongside  with 1 GB of RAM. There's a 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front facing camera, 4 GB of internal storage with microSD card slot and a 2,050 mAh battery. The ZenFone 5 will have the same color options as the 6.


Last but not least, the ZenFone 4 is a budget device with 4 inch 800 x 480 TN TFT display. Equipped with less powerful 1.2 GHz Dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with 1 GB of RAM. The device comes with 4 GB of internal storage with microSD card slot, 5 MP rear camera, 0.3 MP front facing camera and a 1,170 mAh battery. It will be available in black, white, blue, yellow and red.

The ZenFones pricing starts at $99 for the ZenFone 4, $149 for the ZenFone 5 and $199 for the ZenFone 6. Bear in mind, that's all off-contract.


UPDATE: Asus ZenFone 4 is now available in Malaysia at an affordable price of RM299.

UPDATE: Asus ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 carry a price tag of RM599 and RM899 respectively.
