Huawei Shows Off MediaPad M2 10 Tablet at CES 2016

Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0

At CES 2016, Huawei has announced a new tablet - dubbed the MediaPad M2 10.0. As the name suggested, the device is a 10-inch tablet. The screen features a Full HD (1920 x 1200 resolution) IPS display extended over a 10.1-inch diagonal and has a pixel density of 226 ppi.

Under the hood, the MediaPad M2 10.0 is powered by Huawei's very own Kirin 930 chipset, which consists of Octa-core CPU (Quad 2.0 GHz + Quad 1.5 GHz) and paired with Mali-T628 MP4 GPU. Depending on the model, the premium version comes with 64 GB of internal storage and 3 GB of RAM while the standard version sports a lesser storage of 16 GB with 2 GB of RAM.

Everything wrap inside a metallic unibody and the MediaPad M2 10.0 is 7.35 mm thick. It's also worth to mention that this tablet is equipped with four speakers (two at the top and two at the bottom). The speaker setup is a 2+2 Treble and Bass speaker configuration, featuring harman/kardon Clari-Fi technolgy and Huawei Super Wide Sound (SWS) technology.

In addition, the MediaPad M2 10.0 has a fingerprint scanner. The sensor is placed under the screen and also supports gesture control. And then there's a stylus too. Called the M-Pen. The M-Pen supports 2048 pressure levels and only available on the premium versions of the tablet.

Other specs included a 13 MP autofocus rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash, a 5 MP selfie camera, 6660 mAh battery and runs on EMUI 3.1 on top of Android 5.1. The MediaPad M2 10.0 will be available in Luxurious Gold and Moonlight Silver. The tablet is scheduled to release at the first quarter of 2016 and prices start from $349 (about RM1,532) and goes up to $469 (about RM2,055).
