Oppo, the Chinese phone maker had revealed the company's latest addition members to its R-series smartphone with the launch of the new R7 and R7 Plus. The duo smartphone will featuring a 2.5D glass at the front and surrounded by a premium metal unibody.
The Oppo R7 comes with a 5-inch Full HD 1080p AMOLED display and protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. The processing power for the device is an Octa-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit CPU and coupled with 3 GB of RAM for faster and smoother performances.
This 6.3 mm thick device sports a 13 MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus technology and a LED flash. The front has an 8 MP shooter. The R7 has 16 GB of expandable storage (via microSD card) and dual-SIM support.
Other specs included 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, a 2,320 mAh non-removable battery with VOOC fast charging technology and runs on ColorOS 2.1 based on Android 4.4. The Oppo R7 will be available in Gold and Silver, priced at 2,499 Yuan (about RM1,455).
The Oppo R7 Plus, as its name suggests, it is the bigger brother of the Oppo R7. The R7 Plus sports a larger 6-inch 1920 x 1080 AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the device is powered by the same Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor and paired with 3 GB of RAM.
The phablet still has the same 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP front-facing camera. However, the rear camera features an additional laser auto focus technology with dual-LED flash. In addition, the R7 Plus is equipped with a touch-based fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device.
The internal storage of the R7 Plus has been boosted up to 32 GB with microSD card support. Also, the R7 Plus battery capacity has juiced up to a huge 4,100 mAh battery. It will runs on ColorOS 2.1 based on Android 5.1 out of the box. The Oppo R7 plus will carry a price tag of 2,999 Yuan (about RM1750) and available in Gold and Silver.
