Computex 2014: Asus Introduces Plenty of New Devices


The Computex 2014 started from June 3-7 in Taipei, Taiwan. The Taiwan based company - Asus, debuted a series of new devices ranging from hybrid devices to smartphones and tablets.

The Asus Transformer Book V is a hybrid device of laptop, tablet and smartphone. First of all, it features a 12.5 inch laptop/tablet hybrid part that runs Windows 8.1 based on Intel Core processor. Then you have a 5 inch smartphone that runs Android 4.4 with Zen UI and powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom (Moorefield) Quad-core CPU with LTE support.


The smartphone comes with 5 inch HD IPS display, 2 GB RAM, up to 64 GB of storage, 8 MP (rear)/2 MP (front) camera and 2,550 mAh battery. The tablet part packing a 12.5 inch HD IPS display, 4 GB RAM, up to 128 GB storage and up to an addition 1 TB of hard drive in the battery-less keyboard. When docked, the phone's Android interface will displayed within Windows 8, and user can switch between Android or Window seamlessly.


In addition, Asus introduced the Transformer Book T300 Chi, the world's thinnest 12.5 inch detachable 2-in-1 laptop.The ultra-thin laptop measures at 14.3 mm with the dock and 7.4 mm thick for the tablet itself. The Windows tablet sports a 12.5 inch WQHD (2560 x 1480) display, powered by "next generation" Intel Core processor, 2 GB/4 GB of RAM and LTE-enabled.


Asus also announced a new Transformer Pad TF303CL with 10.1 inch Full HD 1920 x 1200 IPS display and powered by Intel Atom Z3745 64-bit Quad-core 1.86 GHz processor. This Android slate also supports LTE, featuring 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 5 MP/1.2 MP cameras and a 25 Wh battery. The tablet is also enhanced with dual front-facing speakers and has a redesigned hidden hinge and battery-less keyboard.


The Asus MeMo Pad 8 (ME581CL) features a 64-bit 2.3 GHz Quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor. It has an 8 inch Full HD 1920 x 1200 IPS display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of internal storage, 5 MP/1.2 MP cameras and a 15.2 Wh battery. Asus claimed it's the lightest LTE tablet with weighs just 299 g and 7.45 mm thick.


Last but not least, the Asus FonePad 8 (FE380CG) is a 3G Android Tablet with dual-SIM support. Powered by Intel Atom Z3560 1.83 GHz Quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. It equipped with 8 inch 1280 x 800 IPS display, 8/16 GB of storage, 5 MP/2 MP cameras and a 15.2 Wh battery. This tablet comes with dual front-facing speakers, 72.2% screen-to-body ratio and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. It will be available in Black, White, Gold and Red.
