Acer Announces New Iconia Tablet with 7.9 and 7 inch


Ahead of the CES 2014, Acer has just announced two new Android tablets, a 7.9 inch and 7 inch models: the Iconia A1-830 and the Iconia B1-720.

The Iconia A1-830 is a 7.9 inch tablet with an aluminum casing which gives it a premium look. The tablet sports a IPS display with 4:3 aspect ratio and a disappointed, 1024 x 768 resolution. It runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and powered by a 1.6 GHz Dual-core Z2560 Clover Trail processor along 1 GB of RAM.

Other specs included dual speakers, 16 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card and front 2 MP (720p) and rear 5 MP (1080p) cameras. As for battery life, Acer claims it can last up to 7 hours. The A1-830 will be available in early 2014 with a price at $149 (around RM490) and Acer will sell an optional keyboard and cover as well.


The Iconia B1-720 is a budget Android tablet cost $130 (around RM427). The B1-720 sports a 7 inch 1024 x 600 display, powered by a 1.3 GHz Dual-core MediaTek MT8111 processor, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card. The B1-720 only comes with a 0.3 MP front camera and up to 5 hours of battery life.

It run on Android 4.2.1 and will be available in a grey or red front panel and a white textured rear panel. The B1-720 will release in North America later this month, alongside an optional protective case.
